25/04/2006 Southwark Park Bandstand FREE Concerts Programme for 2007 (Updated @ 3-6-2007)From: Gary Magold Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2007 10:09 AM
Subject: Southwark Park Bandstand 2007 Summer Concert Programme Hello!
Just a little reminder that the second of the seven summer concerts from the Bandstand in Southwark Park will take place on Sunday 10th June. Following a fantastic curtain raiser to the season by the Bromley Concert Band, the June 10th concert will see a return visit by the Beckenham Concert Band under conductor Philip Emery.
Later in the season we'll see performances by the Greenwich Concert Band (June 24th, which is also "LOVE PARKS WEEK" - June 16th to 24th, further information can be found on www.loveparksweek.org.uk ), the Croydon Symphonic Band on Sunday 22nd July, the first visit to Southwark Park by the Band of the Surrey Yeomanry on 5th August, Southwark's very own Southwark Concert Band, lead by the "legend" that is Bob Bridges with take to the bandstand on 19th August and to close the season the Titanic Syncopators with fill the air with the sounds of 1920's jazz on Sunday 2nd September.
As ever these concerts are totally free thanks to funding from the Rotherhithe Community Council, so turn up, grab a deckchair (or an upright), sit back and take in both the music from the elegant bandstand and the beautiful surroundings of Southwark Park, the boroughs only Green Flag Award winning park. Better still bring a picnic (but no barbeques) family and friends - ALL WELCOME!
The concerts commence at 2:00pm and conclude at 4:00pm.
Just one last favour, could you please distribute this information to any contacts as Marjorie, Christine, June, Debbie and myself can't get posters to all, due to work commitments.

All the best.

Subject: Southwark Park Free Bandstand Season 2007 Commences 20th May Hello,
Just a quick reminder to let you know that the 2007 Summer Concerts from the Bandstand in Southwark Park commences in two weeks on 20th May, with the Bromley Concert Band kicking the programme off.
With funding from the Rotherhithe Community Council, the Friends of Southwark Park have once again programmed a series of seven free Sunday afternoon concerts featuring some of South London's finest local concert bands, performing from the boroughs premier bandstand, between 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
During this, the fifth season of free bandstand concerts, the friends are pleased to welcome back some "old friends" as well as some new ones. So pack a picnic, come along and enjoy two hours of the finest concerts sounds set in the beautiful surroundings of this Green Flag Award winning park.
Please find attached a copy of the 2007 season programme to pass onto your friends, family and neighbours, and we look forward to seeing you at the bandstand.

Subject: REMINDER : "ROTHERHITHE BIKE MAGIC DAY" on 4 March 2006 (Saturday) from 11:00am to 5:00pm
Dear Friends
Just a reminder for the "ROTHERHITHE BIKE MAGIC DAY" on 4 March 2006 (Saturday) from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Looks like we are going to have sunny blue sky for a fun and action-packed day for all to enjoy. I hope you will be attending and/or help to "Spread The Words" to your other contacts who may be interested and benefited from this FREE event. Please find below an extract of my 21-2-2006 email with information for this event for your easy reference. Please also see below some additional information that may be of interest:
1) Good News for those who do not have Bicycles but wish to join in fun for one or all 3 of the Easy Local Bike Rides
There will be 6 free bikes to borrow on the day on a "First Come First Serve Basis".
2) To Show your Support and perhaps also Join in a Photo Shoot for Press and Publicity
Around 12:00 midday, when the cyclists return from the first Easy Local Ride and for the start of the first Stunt Bike Demo Show may be a good time to turn up in BIG number to lend your support and perhaps even get included in a group photo for the press, etc. It is my understanding that at least South London Press will be around for photo shoot at that time.
3) Useful Web Links for Information
a) "ROTHERHITHE BIKE MAGIC DAY" Event Flyer
b) Southwark Council's "Bike Magic at Decathlon" Web Page that includes information on the "ROTHERHITHE BIKE MAGIC DAY" as well as helpful tips on "Cycle Security Advice" and details for "Bicycle Registration"
